Our Story

The NTIA Story

The National Technology Innovation Awards (NTIA) was founded to address a critical gap in Nigeria's digital ecosystem: the absence of a structured, credible platform dedicated to recognising the innovators shaping the country's technological future. Nigeria is home to some of Africa's most talented creators, engineers, founders, and digital builders, yet many continue to work without visibility, acknowledgment, or institutional support. NTIA was created to change that.

The awards were established to shine a light on the individuals and organisations driving meaningful progress across Nigeria's digital landscape. From emerging creators building their first products to established companies delivering impact at scale, NTIA celebrates the resilience, creativity, and ambition that define Nigeria's technology ecosystem. Each nomination represents a story of someone solving a problem, pushing boundaries, or contributing to the nation's digital transformation.

NTIA was designed not only as a recognition platform, but as a catalyst for growth. By elevating the work of innovators, the awards strengthen the culture of excellence within the ecosystem, inspire upcoming talent, and contribute to a more connected and supportive digital community. Over multiple editions, NTIA has grown into a national event that brings together founders, engineers, designers, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders — all united by a shared commitment to advancing Nigeria's digital economy.

The platform continues to evolve with the ecosystem it serves. Through transparent criteria, independent evaluation, and a governance framework built on integrity, NTIA remains focused on celebrating meaningful contributions and amplifying the stories of those building Nigeria's digital future.

"NTIA was created to recognise the people who are building Nigeria's digital future. Our goal is to highlight innovation, celebrate impact, and support the next generation of tech leaders. Every nomination represents a story of resilience, creativity, and ambition — and NTIA exists to amplify those stories."
